Abhishek Mukherjee was born in Varanasi, the cultural capital of India known for its rich history in arts and philosophy. He was introduced to the Sitar at an early age, and received a prestigious scholarship by the Government of India to pursue his sitar lessons. He has now been playing Sitar for almost 30+ years and has the amazing guru Pandit Kushal Das, who is a sitar virtuoso and performs all over the globe. Abhishek continues to learning the instrument and also teaches students in the valley.
